Pumpkin Fest and Corn Maze at Mortimer’s in Prescott

In the town of Dewey, Arizona right outside of Prescott this welcoming community, home to Mortimer Farms, will be hosting the Pumpkin Fest and Corn Maze. October seems to be the official mark to the short fall season here in Arizona. Our cooler Arizona weather prompts the pumpkin craze with the kickoff of fall. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, pretty much everything has some pumpkin added.

What folks may not know about Arizona is that we can and do have, all four seasons. Experiencing the true four seasons can be done in our north country. Fall leaves, colors and temperatures are a welcomed change to the sweltering summer temperatures and a great reason to get outdoors and experience some fun.

Locally owned Mortimer Family Farms invites you to attend the Pumpkin Fest and Corn Maze every weekend in October in Dewey, AZ. This huge festival’s centerpiece is a 15-acre Pumpkin Patch & 25-acre Corn Maze! Fun for the whole family includes “A-MAIZE-ing” attractions, games, farm activities, live entertainment, barn dance, hay rides, petting zoo, horseback rides, bounce houses, food and much more!

The food is truly amazing. We partook for the Sweet Corn Festival and the farm is our go-to visit every summer. Our kids had a blast at the petting zoo, rides and walking through the farm itself, gazing and drooling upon all the delicious fruits and vegetables blooming and growing on the farm. Dewey is a great escape from the warm Phoenix temperatures and is only an hour from downtown.

  1. Oddly enough when I think pumpkins Arizona doesnt come to mind. I dont know why, I lways think it is all dry there. Here pumpkins mean cooler weather and chilly nights. It would be kind of fun to see how its done there.

    1. Ellen, Arizona is so amazing that way. Most people think of Phoenix with the city life and mountains and just an arid desert. While the climate is drier here, we have some truly amazing crops and lately we have had some amazing cool weather. Last night I turned off my air conditioning for the first time since May and it was glorious! AZ is full of surprises.

  2. This sounds like so much fun. I love these fall activities. My nephew just moved to Arizona. I will have to let him know about this so he can check it out

  3. This sounds like a lot of fun, I love pumpkin patches and hayrides! They have always been some of my best memories of being a kid. I would love to take mine here!

  4. We used to have a lot of pumpkin patches here but unfortunately a lot of them closed down and sold to developers. We have one left and take my Granddaughter there every year to pick out our baking and porch pumpkins. Then we come home and have pumpkin carving night, which has been done in my family since I was a little girl with apple cider and donuts. I would not miss it for the world.
