mondayminglebrownnew 1 1 1 Monday Mingle Girl Scout Cookies
Welcome again to Monday Mingle hosted and sponsored by our friend Jen over at EightyMPHMom.com. Monday Mingle is a great way to meet some bloggers, learn to vlog on your own. I am off to see some other minglers, hope you are one of them!

1. Do your kids have chores? Do you pay them to do chores?
2. Were you in Girl Scouts/Brownies or Boy Scouts? Are your kids? Favorite Girl Scout Cookie?
3. Does your family go camping? If so, do you have a funny/interesting experience?

Next week’s questions:

1. If you were forced to choose between skydiving, base jumping off a skyscaper, or rock climbing, which would you choose?
2. Are you an aggressive or defensive driver?
3. Due to a sour economy the genie can only grant you ONE wish. What would it be?

We should totally charge for doing chores!!
Bwwwaaa, failed brownies. That is funny

Seth is so sweet, I was cheering him on – get that cookie!
I need to see the kids in vlogs more. Maybe next week I’ll do it when they’re not sleeping…watch out!

2 Ellen Beck March 7, 2010 at 7:07 pm

Ha! I like how Seth was TOTALLY after that cookie :)

3 Sandra March 7, 2010 at 7:14 pm

We had the same cookie! LOL I call them crack cookies. :)

4 Mellisa March 7, 2010 at 8:48 pm

I thought those cookies were called Carmel Delites — I would fight one of my kids for the last one too!

Happy Monday Mingle!

Mellisa see it must be a regional thing because Greg said the same. How funny! My twins love the Samoas but my oldest is like his dad and not a coconut fan.

6 Jennifer-Eighty MPH Mom March 7, 2010 at 9:05 pm

Karie! Your hair is gorgeous – wow – I would give anything for your hair. You just look so beautiful!

I had to laugh at your little guy – he totally wanted your last cookie. I think I might fight for the last one too! You only bought 10 boxes this year? I think we are in for 13 so far – oh my hips!

I am really loving your blog – I like what you’ve done with the place, and I know how much you are enjoying WP!

Thanks for mingling!

Awwwweee thanks Speedy! I tell you what you can have my hair it is totally unruly most of the time. Seriously Seth was DYING for that cookie he is such a fun little boy. 13 boxes too….you definitely have me beat. Anymore and we would break the bank. LOL
Speedy when you are ready to make the switch do it! TOTALLY do it! xoxo

That’s hilarious about the quitting girl scouts thing because it was the same for me. The leader was a wench and so were most of the girls in my troop.

LOL @ your kiddo snatching the cookie. You should have known waving a cookie around was an invitation for a toddling cookie monster.

9 admin March 8, 2010 at 7:16 am

Cat, I tried to hang with the Girl Scouts but the troop leader I think later we found she was an alcoholic or something. Good times! I know I totally teased the boy with a cookie, had his twin saw….she surely would have eaten it too.

10 Nicole March 7, 2010 at 10:53 pm

LOL!! Loved your little guy getting in front of the camera. Mine did the same thing last week :-)

Hahaha on being a Brownie flunkie!! Have an awesome week!

11 admin March 8, 2010 at 7:15 am

Seriously the boy spotted that cookie from across the room. He LOVES him some cookies.

12 Greg - Telling Dad March 8, 2010 at 12:04 am

Your eyes are so blue in this video and you’re sportin’ a new do! Hot-tay! :)

We’re with you on chores but I’m not sure kids take any pride in them. Might be a little delusional.

LOL on your Brownie leader. Too funny.

YES! My favorite cookie! Although they are called Caramel Delights where we live.

Give that child the cookie, lol.

Great mingle and we’ll see ya next week!

13 admin March 8, 2010 at 7:15 am

Awe thanks Greg…my eyes are generally always that blue and yes a new coif! CA did my hair some good. See everyone calls them carmel delights and they are SAMOA’s, must be a regional thing. Have a great week my man.

Go softball! Very soon it will be starting for our church league again. I need to whip my a$$ into shape fast.

15 LindsayDianne March 8, 2010 at 9:14 am

That was TOO Cute, Karie. Loved it. :)
Your hair looks great, and you always make me giggle. Thanks for making my day a little brighter.

16 Alex March 8, 2010 at 9:26 am

OMG Karie, Seth was a TOTAL distraction the whole time! Especially when he came chomping in for that cookie! LMAO!!

I love love LOVE the Samoas. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

17 Priscilla-wheelchair Mommy March 8, 2010 at 12:28 pm

Makes perfect sense … as he gets older he won’t get paid …. but I kinda use it for bribery :D

awww… sorry the brownie leader was a bitch … but yay on cheerleader .. I wanted to do that :( but I wasnt allowed……

You copied me showing your cookie. hhehehe

j/k

such a cutie — LOVE your laugh :)

18 Jendi March 8, 2010 at 1:23 pm

LOL – You could title this “The Fight For the Last Cookie.”
Glad to see your smiling face. Hope you get caught up soon.

19 Marilyn @ A Lot of Loves March 8, 2010 at 1:25 pm

You guys have the best sounding girl scout cookies down there. Up here we only have a vanilla/chocolate mixed box and mint.

20 Badger Mom March 8, 2010 at 1:34 pm

I’m with you on the chores. I don’t get paid for squat around here – why should anyone else be making money off doing stuff they should be doing anyway? Huh???

COOKAYS!!!!! Thin Mints and Samoas are my faves as well.

We haven’t tried camping with the girls. I’ve a feeling that the hubs isn’t the camping sort of person. We tried briefly when our house was being built, but a bathroom with running water was just around the corner.

Love the do, Momma! And your precious little boy. Where was Sara?

21 Amy March 8, 2010 at 4:23 pm

I skip commenting occasionally when things get crazy, I always feel bad but some weeks you just can’t do anything about it dear.

Lego Land sounds like SUCH GOOD FUN! I always wanted to go as a kid.

Chores are a great way to teach responsibility, I agree with you. I don’t get paid to do chores either LOL

I was in brownies too and did not last long either – does this surprise you? Haha I got kicked out of my first little Brownie clan too :-O I ADORE Samoa cookies, they are soooo good! You totally got cookiejacked, you gave up way easier than I would have :D

I’m not a camping fan, I’d RV it though!

22 Amy March 8, 2010 at 6:51 pm

Hi from another brownie drop out! Loved Seth coming in because that’s the life of a mom right? Hope you have a great week!

23 Jamericanspice March 8, 2010 at 10:56 pm

Hello blonde beauty!

So glad you had a great time on your trip! My SIL loves to go and wants us to visit so we can go to lego land.

We do have the same thoughts about kids and chores. I agree.

Soo that is a samoa. I gotta try some. I LOVE coconut! Is that chocolate on it too? !

I’m lmbo! He is just too cute and you are defending the cookie!

Kids huh :)

That’s how I think about camping too and I’m so not a fan of wanting to sh*t in the woods and not have running water :)

You just make me laugh so much!

Great seeing you again Kari! Enjoy the week!

Don’t feel too bad because I sucked at commenting last week as well-It must have been the whole week or something >.< Although it's exciting to hear that you had a blast on your family trip!! YAY FOR THAT :D

A lot of the mommy vloggers answered the question the same-They don't pay their kids to do the chores. I can see this, though, because when your as young as most of these kids are, you don't value money-But when you get a little older to where you want to buy things, that's a different story.

HAHA! "My brownie troop leader was a total BITCH" That's beautiful. I would have stopped going too!

COOKIE!!!!! Share!? LOL Apparently SOMEONE wanted a cookie… Hehe. TOO adorable; I love how his head just passes the shot and the cookie magically has a bite taken out of it ;)

Great video-Gave me the giggles!!

27 @LastMinuteMandy March 10, 2010 at 1:34 pm

I totally sucked last week too. I’m only a third way through for this week. Hope to get to everyone…but I do mamavation on Monday too, so it takes all week to do visit 60+ blogs! Aack!!

Oh noooo for bitchy GS leaders!! I hope I’m not one of those! :D I think GS doesn’t get fun until you get older – when you get to do the high adventure stuff. I still can’t get into Samoas too much…but you are my type of customer buying 10 boxes! That is hilarious that you totally kept that cookie to yourself! MINE says mama! :D

28 Tina@Mad Hatter Mom March 10, 2010 at 2:15 pm

Oh man.. you did so much better than I would have with the whole kids stealing my cookie.. I’d have tackled him and wrestled it out of his hands.. :)
